A BIG good morning to our awesome Tidy Design blog readers! In todays blog post I’m asking the question; what exactly is guest blogging?
Well… guest blogging in a nutshell is the exchange of content from one person to another. Normally, site X (or the personal marketing site X) will search the web for relevant and well-established blogs in their sector; they then contact the blog owner asking if he/she can submit an article in return for a link back to site X.
Guest blogging is very easy to do and it is great for SEO! Just remember each blog will have its own set of rules / guidelines, so keep these in mind when writing your article. I say this because writing decent content is labour intensive, you don’t want your blog post full of typos or rejected because it doesn’t tick all the correct boxes!
When it comes to SEO and your Google rankings you will need to make sure all content you submit (or publish on your own blog) is unique. If the same article is submitted to 50+ blogs then the blog owners and Google will find out! The consequence, well… probably your article deleted from all blogs and backlinks lost! Also, the relationship between site X and the blog owners / Google not great!
Done correctly, guest blogging is awesome for all parties involved… Blog owners receive free unique content for their site and guest bloggers win because they get more links to their website!
