Tidy tips for writing website content

6th August, 2010

Let’s face it; users enjoy content that is well written so look out for spelling and grammatical mistakes! This sounds like common sense I know, however if you are like me then you maybe multi-tasking more than you should! I often find typos in my own work (Or get an email from someone pointing one out)! I guess the trick is to step back and make a note in your diary to re-read everything at a later date.

Breaking content up into chunks or divisions can also help users locate the content / information they want to find. Think about words that a user might search for, make these jump out on the page, maybe use a different colour or make them bolder.

We recommend to all our clients that they add new content on a regular basis; this will not only keep repeat visitors interested, it will also bring in new visitors! Search engines love to see fresh (unique) content so updating your site regularly will pay off. Posting well written articles, tutorials or news reports (remember to include keywords related to your business) once a week will really help boost future search results.

Tidy Design does not promote content writing as one of our services however we have helped several clients in the past produce unique content, news reports etc to help our SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) campaigns. If you are looking to increase the size of your website but simply don’t have time to sit down and type then please contact us. We would be delighted to help… Remember, “Unique content is king!”
