X3 Easy steps to transfer your domain/hosting...

Step 1.

To host a website with Tidy Design that you purchased from another web design or hosting company, you will need to request they update the DNS (Domain Name Server) to our servers. Information of these will be provided during the transfer process. Before doing this Tidy Design will need access to your website via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) so we may upload your website to its new home.

Step 2.

Please make sure to list all email accounts linked to your domain and email these to us! You should use a mail client such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird to backup all mail as data maybe lost during the transfer of your domain.

Step 3

Once we have uploaded your website to our servers and configured your email accounts the transfer will be ready! It usually takes around 24 hours for the DNS (Domain Name Server) information to fully propagate, but sometimes it can take as much as 48 hours! (This is rare!)

What will it cost you to transfer your domain/hosting to/from Tidy Design?

This will depend on the domain; a .com domain name for example will charge us for the update. To cover these costs we do charge £25.00 per domain transfer unless otherwise agreed. If you are transferring a website away from Tidy Design and have an invoice outstanding with us then Tidy Design reserves the right to withhold a site until the outstanding invoice is settled. If website hosting is no longer required with Tidy Design then all we ask for is notification from our client of this prior to the invoice payment date.
