Mr and Mrs Tidy!It may have been the scariest weekend of our lives but Rosie and I both agree it was also the best! After 5 years together, many months of planning and preparation, the day finally arrived on Saturday 12th June when we got married! Prior to the big day we had family travel from as far afield as Australia to meet up with us making life even busier than usual! With recent events in mind may I take this opportunity to thank all our clients for your support and patience during this busy period, it has been an interesting second quarter for all at Tidy Design!

A Change is Coming to Tidy! After a short but sweet 10 months, our Tidy Tom is moving on. Tom has been a great asset to the company and has contributed to the Tidy Team massively. Within these 10 months he has built a College Course Calculator, helped with our own personal site Business Networking Link, built Build a Bed and Build a Waterbed, and these are only a snippet of projects he has worked on. Tom has done tremendous work on Build a Bed, though I think we have put him off beds for life! Tom will be missed very much, and we wish him well at his new job as he has a very bright future ahead of him! On a final note, remember Tom who your first employers were when you make your millions! :D
The Hokey Cokey Party ShopIn May we launched a new website for the Hokey Cokey Party Shop in Haslemere. This was by far one of the most fun sites we have designed, and our inner child’s were set lose on the creation of the site. Our vision was a fun, bright, and simple design to show off a handful of the many products they sell. Many thanks to Julie and Tim for this lovely testimonial: “We would definitely recommend you, you were a pleasure to work with and hope you will continue to be in the future as we expand our site and business. We were delighted with the advice you offered when designing our fantastic new website. You were always helpful and friendly even when I was probably driving you mad. I have a lot of faith in you and thanks again.”

Arabic Script Web AddressesThe World Wide Web is exactly what the name suggests, a Web for the Wide World. It may come as a surprise to some of you, and even to me, that from the 6th May of this year, the first non Latin character web addresses went live. In the Web’s 20 plus year history has it never been possible to obtain a URL using characters from languages such as Chinese, Russian, Egyptian and Thai. This is astonishing as Icann’s (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers) President Rod Beckstrom states that “over half the internet users around the world don't use a Latin-based script as their native language”. This has raised concerns that there could be a split between those who use western sites and those whose sites are primarily in Arabic, Chinese, etc. Potentially people could create their own internets. However for the entirety of the Web’s life, there has always been a division between countries who use Latin characters and countries who are unable to translate the Latin characters. Therefore only now does the World Wide Web truly mean what it stands for? For more information please visit http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/10100108.stm
Finally...I would like to end this newsletter with a quote from our order of service, it got me thinking... "Today well lived makes every yesterday a memory of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope." Kindest regards
