As the clock counts down to 2011 Tidy Design would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients / readers a lovely evening and a prosperous New Year!

Although we have been hit hard by cold / flu during this festive period, Tidy Design has managed to invest some time and energy into designing and developing a Startup Company Website package ready for 2011. The idea is to offer startup companies a tidy looking website with hosting, costing just a fraction of the price of a bespoke website design!

I guess nobody really knows how spending cuts, unemployment and our fragile UK economy will affect both new and established businesses in 2011. One thing we are certain about is that Tidy Design will be re-investing as much as we can into marketing our brand, developing more sellable products (such as the Startup Company Website) and keeping our costs down! At the end of the day we want to be able to help, and by keeping costs down for start-ups, we hope this will make the process of owning and maintaining a website less scary! After lots of nice food and wines during this festive period we have been burning off the calories by taking long walks in the snow and doing lots of sledging!

Following on from a blog post I made earlier this month on Tidy Design that contained a link to several FREE winter stock photographs, I have today been tidying up even more FREE winter stock images for you, these all taken over the last couple of weeks.

Although I am no expert at photography I have really enjoyed venturing out into the woods and snapping away in the snow… Out of a good couple of hundred photos I have managed to capture a few decent photos for you to download. I hope you find a good home for them.

Yesterday evening I went out for a few beers with Mr David Tompkins, owner of Portsmouth, Southampton and Chichester Language Colleges. Over the years our business relationship has grown from strength to strength, his family even attended our wedding earlier this year!

As a web design company we are very fortunate to meet face to face with other business owners, ranging from sole traders to international companies with many staff on the payroll! You could in fact say it is the ultimate business networking event!

Anyway, following a late but very enjoyable evening reflecting on business and the year past, David has today emailed Tidy Design a lovely testimonial for us to share with you on our blog.

Receiving this email on the last full working day for Tidy Design in 2010 is awesome! It really does remind me exactly how great being in business is! Today Tidy Design has been out and about making the most of all this awesome snow! Ok, snow is not good for business and it is very disruptive… However it is the weekend and Tidy Design has been working flat out in recent weeks, so we have a ‘let’s have some fun’ attitude!

As mentioned in an earlier blog post when I uploaded several other FREE autumnal stock photos for you to download, images are very important when designing websites… Most of the time we purchase images from iStockPhoto.com (Remember never to use photos from a Google image search!) or we take our mobiles / cameras out and about to capture our own photos, a fun and cheap alternative to buying stock photography.

So to conclude, I have just spent some time in Photoshop tidying up several winter themed photographs taken today, I hope you find a good home for them!

So, a little over a week remains to get on-top of all commissioned web design work, client updates and marketing campaigns… I must say, starting a new year is both exciting and daunting for us, 2010 has been such an amazing year… it will be a hard one to top!

For now, our thoughts and energy are focused on mince pies, wine and turkey… This is our finish line for 2010! Like many businesses out there, Tidy Design is truly grateful to see growth as a company during these tough economic times. We are also delighted to have new and exciting projects already pencilled in for Jan / Feb 2011!
